PP Fushun Petrochemical L5E89 Resin
PP Fushun Petrochemical L5E89 Resin
Material Introduction: PP Fushun Petrochemical L5E89 is homopolymer polypropylene mainly used for flat‑yarn and fiber production, featuring low melt flow rate and favorable comprehensive properties.
Main Applications
Woven products: Traditional and primary application, including woven bags, tarpaulins, FIBC bulk bags, carpet backing, sofa fabrics, strapping materials, ropes and other articles. Good tensile strength and low elongation make it well‑suited for these scenarios.
Fibers & monofilaments: For civil yarns, industrial yarns, carpet yarns manufacturing.
Injection‑molded products: Although partial suppliers mention applications in daily‑use articles, toys and home appliance housings, this grade is optimized for extrusion flat‑yarn processing. It may not be the optimal choice for injection‑molding, especially complex or thin‑wall parts.

Processing Parameters
| Processing Item | Reference Range (General PP) | Special Remarks for L5E89 |
|---|---|---|
| Drying Treatment | Normally not required | PP absorbs negligible moisture. Drying is unnecessary under proper storage. Dry at 80 ℃ for 1 h if material gets damp. |
| Barrel Temperature | 180‑280℃ | Homopolymer PP melting point:165‑170℃. For low‑MFR L5E89 (3.0‑3.5 g/10min), adopt medium‑high temperature range (200‑260℃) to guarantee sufficient plasticization. |
| Mold Temperature | 20‑70℃ | Recommended:40‑60℃. Higher mold temperature improves surface gloss and dimensional stability; lower mold temperature shortens molding cycle. |
| Injection Pressure | 80‑140 MPa | Adjust based on flow length and part structure. Higher injection pressure may be required since this grade is not optimized for injection‑molding. |
| Injection Speed | Medium speed | Avoid excessive speed to prevent shear‑thermal degradation and surface appearance defects. |
| Holding Pressure | 30%‑60% of injection pressure | Sufficient holding pressure reduces shrinkage and sink marks. Avoid overly long holding time to prevent excessive internal stress. |
| Back Pressure | 5‑20 MPa | Moderate back‑pressure improves melt homogenization and venting. |
| Screw Speed | Medium speed | Adopt medium‑low screw speed to avoid material degradation induced by excessive shear heat. |
